My birds had babies! They laid about 6 eggs a couple of months ago, but it was their first batch and they didnt know what to do with them, so they cracked them. Then, when we were in Lake Tahoe, they laid 4 more. We figured the best thing to do was leave them alone, and then a couple weeks later they hatched! So now we have 2 baby birds!
Meet Dwight and Penelope...
Here they are about 6 and 2 days old.
This is only a week and a half later!!!
I spared you all the ugly pictures. Here are the cute ones, Dwight 19 days old and Penelope 15 days.
They are actually cute now! Their eyes are open, their feathers are coming in, and they love to crawl and chirp. I have only taken them out a couple times since they are still so little, but they are so fun! I've noticed that Penelope seems a lot more outgoing than Dwight. She loves to crawl around and look at things. Its adorable!
I actually dont know if they are boys or girls, so I just chose myself. The thingy above their beak is supposed to tell you, by the color, but it doesnt change colors until they are a couple months old. Plus, it was wrong with Peri and Libbie. So I have no idea, and I'm not willing to pay $50 to find out at the vet! But I figured if someone bought one, they would probably rename it and it wouldnt matter anyways.
This is Penelope (I almost named her Pam, so it would be Dwight and Pam, but everyone already started calling her Penelope, so it stuck)
